Musician-songwriter Mark Benedetti has reached a personal milestone and is content in his current band.

Author Claudia Marston has gotten mixed reviews of her first novel and does not want to write anymore.

Mark buys a copy of her book when he meets her in an unusual, unexpected way. As he reads it, he starts writing his memoir.

Around this time, Claudia writes another novel.
